Very Inspiring Blogger Award Nomination and My Testimony

veryinspiringblogger
Diana from Prayers and Promises blog nominated me two days ago for the Very Inspiring Blogger Award. I was actually surprised and didn’t know what to write and so delayed myself in following the rules of this Screen Actors Guild like Award. I also tried to do my own research on these awards and found this WordPress Support discussion on another award. The support discussion is an honest perspective of these Awards. But a while ago I was led to begin to write, so Diana thank you because within the rules I finally found a way to share my testimony and it’s my pleasure to let a few others bloggers know that their posts have encouraged me, given me food for spiritual thought and it’s exciting to know that a modern form of communication like blogging can be used for the edification of the body and for the honest answering and witnessing to those who are sincerely trying to find truth and peace in their lives.

My Testimony

  1. Emigrated from Jamaica but now reside in the United States. Like many American immigrants this gives me a unique perspective on culture and there is common thread of understanding among immigrants
  2. Grew up a math and science geek and earned a Bachelors and Masters in Computer Science
  3. Grew up in the Seventh-Day Adventist Church but now attend a non-denominational charismatic church. I left the SDA church not because I thought it was absolutely wrong but because my current church has always been the only place I’ve know to spiritually grow. In general I have an ecumenical perspective about Christianity. Any denomination or ministry that believes in the 5 solae has more than enough fertile soil to grow anyone. Problems arise when the enemy comes in through individuals to change a true plan of God for salvation into works and or error
  4. Suffered from depression from my teenage years to early twenties. It was a time when silence was loud and I didn’t have peace. God totally healed me through the leveraging spiritual and natural truths about mental illness. Spiritually it’s a stronghold and lie from the enemy(Ephesians 6) and naturally I worked through dysfunction and low self esteem with Christian counseling. Along with depression God healed me of IBS and strange muscle pain. Two inexplicable problems common today that are rooted in spiritual warfare for which modern science is limited to totally eradicate. At best science helped me to manage the symptoms but with no approach of total eradication
  5. I’d like to foster and adopt one day including special needs children
  6. Love to travel, have visited Israel and Nigeria
  7. Love Apple products

As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” Proverbs 27:17, NIV 1984
